KAI indexes footage, builds stories through prompts, and takes them straight into the edit timeline.
Barcelona, Spain – January 19, 2026 – Gestmusic and Amplify today announced the launch of KAI, a new AI-powered product designed to streamline how high-volume entertainment productions turn raw audiovisual material into finished stories.
KAI has been jointly developed by Gestmusic and Amplify within a European innovation project supported by EIT Culture & Creativity, with research collaboration from Fraunhofer IPK. The solution also incorporates an advanced artificial intelligence analysis core developed by Ugiat Technologies, S.L., strengthening KAI’s technical foundation.
KAI simplifies a process that is typically fragmented across tools and teams: by connecting content indexing, story creation, and editing into a single narrative workflow that reduces time spent searching, logging, and rebuilding structures from scratch.
Power Up Your Editing Skills with AI
KAI redefines how stories are created, explored, and refined from raw audiovisual content. Instead of manually browsing and logging footage, editors and producers can build narratives through prompt-based interaction and iterative story workflows.
Using natural language prompts, teams can generate storylines, summaries, character arcs, and thematic cuts from large volumes of material, and then refine and rework them collaboratively. KAI turns storytelling into a shared, iterative process where multiple users can contribute and align around the same story space.
Under the hood, KAI enriches content with structured intelligence such as transcriptions, scene descriptions, emotional cues, and key narrative moments, making material searchable and reusable as story-ready building blocks.
Crucially, KAI connects storytelling directly with execution. Through native integration with non-linear editing tools, stories, selects, and structures created in KAI can be transferred straight into the edit timeline—so editors start closer to the final cut and focus on fine-tuning rather than rebuilding.
What KAI Solves
Current tools help manage assets or edit timelines, but they don’t support the full narrative process end-to-end. KAI fills this gap by connecting three high-value steps: indexing, story creation, and editing into one streamlined workflow, with clear advantages at every stage:
- Index faster: Automatically turns large volumes of raw audiovisual material into structured, searchable content, removing the bottleneck of manual review and logging. Teams can instantly access relevant moments, themes, characters, and key narrative beats.
- Create together: Enables collaborative story development through prompts and iteration. Teams can explore ideas, generate storylines, and refine narratives in shared story spaces: making creative decisions earlier and reducing misalignment.
- Finish seamlessly: Moves story structures, selects, and narrative builds straight into the timeline via native NLE integration: reducing rework, accelerating delivery, and bringing teams closer to the final cut with minimal adjustment.
A European Collaboration Driving Innovation
Developed as part of a European innovation project, KAI has received the support of EIT Culture & Creativity, reinforcing its ambition to address real, unmet needs in today’s audiovisual production landscape through responsible and market-ready innovation. EIT Culture & Creativity is supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union.
“Being fully aware of the growing creative and operational challenges faced by productions working with large volumes of content, this project has been supported by EIT Culture & Creativity to help make KAI a reality,” said Miquel Garcia, Head of Postproduction at Gestmusic. “By combining Gestmusic’s deep knowledge of storytelling with advanced AI capabilities, we are launching a tool that empowers creative teams while fully respecting the human nature of the creative process.”
Aaron Lopez, CEO at Amplify, added: “We are extremely proud of our partners involved in this project and of the innovative scope of KAI. It represents a major step forward in making AI genuinely useful for content creators. KAI doesn’t replace creativity, it amplifies it, turning raw footage into an intelligent, conversational asset that works at the pace of modern production.”
The project is further strengthened by the participation of Fraunhofer IPK, one of Europe’s most prestigious applied research centers, contributing advanced visual understanding that brings differentiating value to KAI: supporting deeper recognition of characters, interactions, and narrative structures.
As part of a European innovation initiative, KAI reflects a clear commitment: keeping humans at the center of storytelling. It brings ethical AI into real creative workflows: helping teams move faster and collaborate better, while preserving creative control from the first narrative idea to the final edit.
See KAI at ISE 2026
KAI will be showcased publicly for the first time at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2026, taking place 3–6 February 2026 in Barcelona. Visitors can experience live demos and meet the teams at the Catalonia Pavilion (Congress Square), booth CS100, where Gestmusic and Amplify will present KAI and its end-to-end storytelling workflow, from indexed content to story creation to seamless handoff into the edit.
Commercially, KAI is designed for the realities of this production world. Licenses and subscriptions are tailored to production cycles, adapting to each project’s duration, intensity, and workflow logic, rather than forcing one-size-fits-all software plans.
